The A-465 highway expansion project (Wales, United Kingdom) wins the 2026 Bronze Award at the CCS National Site Awards
The A-465 highway expansion project, specifically Sections 5 and 6 (Wales, United Kingdom), has won the 2026 Bronze Award at the prestigious CCS National Site Awards. The project, developed under a PPP model, involved the widening of the A465 highway on Sections 5 and 6, which span 17.3 kilometers and are located between the towns of Dowlais Top, Merthyr Tydfil, and Hirwaun. This project has significantly improved mobility and connectivity in Wales, as well as revitalized the local economy.
The expansion of the A465 has involved a significant investment that has generated a range of benefits for the local companies participating in the project.
Among the many accolades received by the project, we highlight the CEEQUAL-BREEAM certification. CEEQUAL-BREEAM. This organization operates an assessment, rating, and awards scheme for sustainability in civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping, and public works, with the goal of improving sustainability through best practices. The A465 project, executed by FCC Construcción, has obtained CEEQUAL certification with an “Excellent” rating, achieving a score of over 82%.
